We are currently looking for a Quality Technician to join our team. The main purpose of Quality Technician position is a developmental position accountable for Quality Assurance at the Louisville, KY facility with the responsibility of ensuring that our products meet or exceed customer requirements which are supported in the end-to-end quality processes within the plant.
The Louisville, KY plant predominantly produces pressure sensitive labels for local and national customers in the W&S (Wine and Spirits) industry using flexographic print technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Safety - Be an advocate and role model for all aspects of plant safety. Assist department managers in identifying safety risks or concerns. Actively participate in safety efforts including STOP audits and all safety-related training. Ensure visitor safety policies are followed during trials and customer visits.
  • Quality Culture - Be the champion for developing and sustaining a culture of Quality and continuous improvement in the Louisville plant. Lead compliance in HACCP and third-party audits for the facility.
  • Customer Relationships - Support a customer-centric culture within the facility. May interact with customer during visits as needed to address Quality issues and/or to support our customers' needs.
  • Corrective Action - Facilitate the root cause and corrective action process and work collaboratively with QA Manager & Operations to ensure effective and permanent corrective actions are implemented to address Quality issues.
  • External Audits - Facilitate second and third party audits and work with Management to ensure any audit findings are promptly addressed.
  • Internal Audits - Assist and help develop the plant's internal audit team. Complete PDS (Pre-Delivery Sample) process when needed. Schedule frequent internal audits to ensure operations comply with all SOPs, Quality policies, procedures and test methods. Conduct mock recall exercises as required by company procedure.
  • Calibration - Oversee Calibration program
  • Document Management - Oversee document management program
  • Validation and Change Control - Ensure plant-wide compliance to validation and change control protocols and assist QA Manager with validation work for equipment, processes, products and test methods.
  • Specification Management - Assist QA Manager with specification management process including specs for new product development and managing changes to existing customer specifications.
  • Communication - Represent Quality department in required plant meetings. Communicate the plant's Quality performance to plant associates and management on a regular basis.
  • Raw Material Quality - Ensure the integrity and quality of incoming raw materials by managing the material specification and COA review processes.
  • People -Assist with onboarding and training of all associates in MCC's Quality policies and procedures.
  • Performance - Support plant's Quality management efforts by collecting and reporting Quality KPI data and financial metrics as required by Corporate QA and Plant Operations Management.
  • Lean Manufacturing - Assist Management with Lean initiatives by participating in or facilitating Continuous Improvement projects and/or Kaizen events.
Qualifications:
  • Quality experience preferably in the printing industry with proven ability to run a plant quality department.
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to input formulas, perform analysis, create pivot tables, etc.
  • College level math including statistical analysis. Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
  • Rational, fact-driven decision making skills.
  • High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and present findings.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience leading projects, delegating, and seeing problems through to resolution.
  • Articulate and clear in written and verbal communication.
  • Persuasive and passionate in the spoken and written word.
  • Must be able to relate to people at all levels of the organization, including diverse cultures.
  • Assertive and solution-focused.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to read rulers and pass color hue test.
