We have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Management Associate in our Boston office. This individual will Report directly to the Vice President, Portfolio Management. The Associate will support the firm's Portfolio Management function, aiding in the oversight and strategic decision making of Cabot's various investment vehicles. A highly resourceful team player, this person must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, and efficient. The individual needs to be organized and exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and financial skills. The person in this position must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy regarding all information of Cabot Properties, L.P., Cabot Properties, Inc., and their affiliates.

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain excel-based portfolio-level financial models for all active Cabot investment vehicles including communicating with primary departments at Cabot to ensure that historical data and future assumptions are correct and accurate
  • Prepare and present deliverables to Investment Committee and other senior leaders of the firm that summarize the key metrics of all investment vehicles in a comprehensive and organized manner to aide in the analysis of both existing portfolios and potential future transactions
  • Collaborate with capital markets and investment professionals in preparing for internal and external discussions and presentations related to potential investments in the context of an investment vehicle
  • Work closely with other members of the Portfolio Management team to respond promptly and accurately to investor requests requiring data and analysis
  • Develop, train, and manage Portfolio Management analyst(s), including review of their work
  • Develop and maintain dynamic tools to support marketing efforts and ongoing investor requests
  • Analyze new investment opportunities in the context of the totality of an investment vehicle
  • Monitor LPA and debt covenants to ensure all funds remain compliant
  • Coordinate with Capital Markets team to analyze and evaluate debt strategies across portfolios
  • Ad hoc analytical requests

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2-5+ years of analytical experience, preferably in a role focused on real estate underwriting/valuation and/or portfolio management
  • Undergraduate degree with an excellent academic background, preference for focused area of study in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or Business
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
  • Proficiency in SQL strongly preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency in PowerBI preferred, but not required
  • Financial modeling skills required; familiarity with real estate, accounting, finance, investment and capital market concepts is strongly desirable
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with a pro-active approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all members of the organization
  • Self-motivated, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality as required and appropriate

Physical/Mental/Visual Demands and Work Environment:

  • The job is conducted in an office work environment, sitting most of the time
  • Approximately 90% of this position's duties require use of a computer
  • Travel related to investor meetings and conferences
