Job Description:
Our goal is to foster the independence of a young man with a TBI who lives in his own apartment. This young man is very intelligent, social, and active. We are looking for professional life assistants who are outgoing, dedicated and driven to make a positive impact in his sustainable independence. Ideally, the professionals we seek have a passion for working with people with disabilities or are pursuing a career in the therapy field. This position can include but is not limited to art, music, breath, meditation, relaxation, exercise, etc… The young man has spasticity in his right leg and left arm. His mode of transportation is his wheelchair.

Skills:
- Has the ability to provide therapy 1-2 times per week (approximate time is 1-3 hrs)
- Has reliable transportation to and from work site
- Has patience and is willing to accept feedback (training provided)
- Has the ability to assist transferring client in and out of his wheelchair
- Has the ability to make at least a 6-month commitment to his recovery
- Has a working knowledge of Google calendar, Google drive, and smartphone technology
- Has had some experience working with and understanding people with TBI’s
- Has ability to check and respond to work related emails and texts on a daily basis
- Has access to a cell phone for communicating during any shift scheduled
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferably TBI): 1 year
- Therapy Certificate or greater
- Non-smoker
