Required:
  • Master's degree in Chemistry;
  • OR Master's degree in any field with at least 18 GCH in a combination of the qualifying fields: Chemistry (any); Organic Chemistry; Biochemistry

Alternative Qualifications:
A PharmD degree with at least 18 GCH in Chemistry or chemistry-related coursework such as Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacokinetics, Biopharmaceutics, General Medicine Advanced Pathophysiology, Advanced Drug Therapy, Toxicology, Compounding, Physical Pharmacy, and Analytical Methods is qualifying.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Meet the minimum required credentials for the discipline or program. See above.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the community college philosophy. Demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to equity-minded and culturally-responsive teaching strategies and practices that enhance student success.
  • Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Understanding of, demonstrated responsiveness to, and ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community including the racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the college student population, including students with different ability statuses (physical and/or learning).
  • Evidence of professional activities and service beyond primary teaching assignments.
  • Development and review of curriculum, including assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to reflect critically on institutional and teaching practices that aim to increase cultural responsiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability addressing issues of equity in the classroom.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity.
Work Hours
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, may be required to work other shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Full-time/9-month position (170 Contract Days).
Compensation Defined by the approved MCC-NEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Special Instructions to Applicants
This position will have classes on the Maple Woods and Blue River Campuses.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is contingent on budget-appropriated funding. Position available Fall 2024 unless otherwise approved.
