Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the businesses and actively participate in their Integrated Business Planning Process (IBP)
  • Lead and manage the regional category team, develop his/her team members to further enhance their toolbox/skills and actively drive a high-performance culture within Procurement function
  • Contribute to the implementation of sourcing strategies with suppliers within the designated category in strong alignment with Global Category Manager and Business Units. Actively manage these materials within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Manages supplier relationships and leads negotiations with suppliers within delegated authority to drive performance
  • Conduct market research and proactively ensure competitive pricing among selected supply partners
  • Actively participate in different Procurement project opportunities such as the implementation of digital tools, strategic developments, specific value-add projects, etc.
  • Ensure reliable and timely updated price forecasts for key materials and track savings projects to achieve productivity goals
  • Monitor and analyze supplier performance, supply availability, and mitigate supply risks
  • Foster close exchange with the Business Units to identify potential solutions for their needs and translate them into business cases
  • Pro-actively ensure a high level of market intelligence within entire value chain (upstream and downstream) of your area of responsibility

Requirements

  • The Category Procurement Manager should have a bachelor's degree (master degree is a plus) along with a minimum of minium of 8 years of progressive procurement, business, operations, or project management roles, Knowledge of Petrochemicals value stream is a plus
  • Effective business acumen, project management capabilities, effective communication skills; An ideal candidate will display proven analytical and negotiation skills
  • Exposure to different cultural environments or business fields or equivalent exposure is a plus
  • Fluent in English, profound analytical and proven negotiation skills, MS-Office, SAP, additional languages like Spanish/Portuguese is a plus
