Job Description

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, patient focused Lab Services Technician II (LST II) to join our Vascular Access team and make a difference for our patients and our community.

Join us in a small Specialty group! Work hard, have fun, and provided much needed care! The LST II role partners with Vascular Access nursing. In this role you will place PIVs, draw labs, change PICC dressing and assist the VAS RN with procedure as needed. The ideal candidate with have experience with US-guided PIV placement.

Work Schedule: This per diem position could include 4 hour shifts or 8 hour shifts between the hours of 0700-2330.

Required Qualifications:

*Graduation from high school or equivalent
*6 months of applicable (related to medical) health care experience

* The following may substitute for the above experience required.

-Completion of a health care program training (e.g., CMA, EMT, paramedic, phlebotomy).

-Experience as an LST I at Region's Hospital.

-Graduation with an associate degree from an approved Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program;

-Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific area may substitute for above

*CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications:

*Clinical Lab Technician, graduate of an accredited LPN, Medical Assistant or EMT Program, or an Associate degree in Clinical Lab Science.

*Previous phlebotomy experience

*Experience using an Electronic Medical Record.

*Experience with Ultrasound-guided PIV placement.
