Job Description
The Assistant General Manager will oversee operations functions to ensure quality work is provided to the customer and assist the general manager with daily tasks including supervisory functions.

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager will oversee operations functions to ensure quality work is provided to the customer and assist the general manager with daily tasks including supervisory functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee operations department including scheduling, sufficient materials are available, and assign trips to drivers
  • Order materials as needed in order for subordinates to complete their jobs efficiently
  • Train new associates and road test new drivers
  • Provide customer service to ensure quality service
  • Input incentive payroll into system
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to operate a forklift safely
  • Knowledge of company systems
  • Able to operate any vehicle in order to complete a job or if a problem arises as necessary
  • Good people skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School diploma or GED
  • Required: Previous managerial experience
  • Preferred: Previous logistics and transportation experience

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly work indoors, work outdoors may be required from time to time
  • Sitting for long periods of time while indoors
  • Lifting at least 40 lbs
