SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Financial Services, this position is responsible for supporting the new client development and relationship management activities for the Payments & Technology Banking group. Responsibilities include payments & fintech client portfolio management, sales support for new client opportunities, risk management and underwriting of new and existing client opportunities and cross-functional support for new client onboarding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support the Payments & Technology Banking team to grow deposits and fee income for SouthState Bank. Develop strong working relationship with other members of the Payments Technology Banking team to support new and existing client relationships.
  • Meet or exceed annual budget. Maximize portfolio profitability through appropriate pricing and cross-selling of the Bank's products and services to a nation-wide client base. Payments Technology Banking team services include complex treasury management services (ACH, Disbursement Services, Information Reporting, Card Sponsorship Programs.)
  • Work with risk management / credit administration / compliance partner(s) to develop new profitable Payments & Technology Banking client relationships.
  • Complete financial analysis and the underwriting and closing of new opportunities.
  • Complete new and existing client ACH limit / credit memos in support of new business initiatives.
  • Work with Payments Technology Banking team members to develop a strong referral / COI network and enhance the Bank's reputation in the marketplace.
  • Work with Treasury Services Officer to cross-sell SouthState's treasury services products.
  • Portfolio management responsibility to monitor client's financial, operational and compliance status. Review portfolio with cross functional teams (risk management, credit, operations) on a regular basis. Ensure client financial and compliance requirements are received and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Support the bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, call reports, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
  • Support new client implementation requirements and coordinate with SouthState Operations / Risk Management and Compliance teams as required.
  • Perform industry analysis and participate in relevant industry related events.
  • Regularly & efficiently communicate successes and challenges to direct Manager.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with decision makers at targeted companies and clients (CEO, CFO, VP Finance.) Participate in client calls with Senior Banker and Treasury Services Officer.
  • Comply with all the Bank's compliance requirements including Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or other related field. Formal bank credit training, risk management or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of commercial banking, financial services, or Fintech company experience. Preferably in a portfolio management, treasury services, risk management, auditing, or underwriting role.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Proven track record of working in a cross-functional environment. Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts to evaluate financial models, client audits and operational risks. Knowledge in financial statement analysis and understanding of client cash flow cycle. Sound credit / risk management judgment. Strong excel skills with complimenting mathematical and pricing analysis/financial analysis.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is in a private office.

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to client and internal meetings as needed.
