Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an AutoCAD/Civil 3D Designer to join our team in Austin, Texas! The CADD Designer will work closely with engineers to perform high-level design work, as well as drafting and project-related tasks on assigned projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
  • Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays, and isometric drawings, including digital terrain models and surfaces.
  • Calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
  • Perform high-level design computations and earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans.
  • Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas.
  • Prepare concept layout plans.
  • Perform grading, utility, stormwater, and soil erosion/sediment control design.
  • Conform to the company's standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
  • Work with numerous project teams to help complete projects.
  • Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets.
  • Prepare project exhibits.
  • Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased.
  • Prepare CAD files for authorized media release to external parties/agencies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
  • 5+ years.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, associated plug-ins such as Vehicular Tracking, and other related software.
  • Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., familiarity with Microsoft Office, etc.).
