Job Description

Brad Foote Gear Works has a great opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our team in Cicero, IL. The Application Engineer will be responsible for developing quotes, proposing solutions and offering technical support for customer inquiries.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with outside sales on coordinating communication with strategically managed accounts
  • Be responsible for:
    • Manufacturing & material lead times
    • Cost work-up
    • Quote generation
    • Coordinate commercial and engineering contract reviews
    • Purchase order entry & acknowledgement and Salesforce.com entry
    • Ensuring all raw material and tooling is budgeted for and communicated to the manufacturing team
    • Contact buyers on schedule, changes to demand and supply; input updates in TCM
    • Communicate changes or requested changes in demand to sales and operations
  • Coordinates and directs the preparation and presentation of technical proposals to customers
  • Provides leadership and technical guidance to both the internal staff and the customer to ensure full understanding of how Brad Foote will best meet the customer's needs.
  • Works with Engineering in the development and implementation of technical customer solutions and removes barriers to customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures we respond to technical queries from customers and internal staff
  • Contacting and maintaining client relationships
  • Initiate and support Estimating throughout the quotation process by functioning as the liaison between the customer or assigned sales person and Brad Foote.
  • Provide sales "intelligence" to ensure understanding of costs, profitability, and probability of success in winning of all projects quoted.
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive
  • Work with material expediter when necessary to ensure no interruptions of product flow
  • Manage and protect customer and company intellectual property
  • Coordinate with Quality the submission and processing of deviations to customers
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications

  • 4 year degree from an accredited college or university; BSME or MBA or relevant experiences preferred
  • 2+ years minimum direct experience
  • Related experience in power transmission/machining environment manufacturing is a plus

Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability

  • Understanding of functional heat treating / ferrous metallurgy is beneficial
  • Strong program / project management and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and customer relations skills
