Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, a transatlantic law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) for its Irvine office. This role is responsible for various administrative duties to support attorneys on the Business Litigation team.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Word processing of letters, memos, forms, and other correspondence and legal documents as requested.
  • Maintaining calendars; scheduling meetings and conference rooms. Coordinating meals/refreshments for meetings.
  • Proofreading of all work, including reading documents for content and context.
  • Assisting attorneys with routing client bills for processing.
  • Making travel arrangements, including transportation, automobile rentals and hotel reservations.
  • Answering and screening routine telephone calls per attorney instructions. Providing backup telephone coverage on the reception desk as needed.
  • Opening mail, sorting, stamping and organizing.
  • Filing correspondence and legal documents according to the office filing system; coordinating with records management.
  • Filing documents with various courts.
  • Performing other duties required based upon the practice of attorneys, such as, but not limited to, administrative work, practice development initiatives, and committee projects and responsibilities.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and at least five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Demonstrated writing and communication skills and documented interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills: responsive, efficient, independent, high energy and proactive in a very fast-paced environment with deadline pressures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Adobe.
  • Team player, able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization as well as external clients.
  • Ability to present herself or himself professionally and understand the importance of confidentiality and highly sensitive, client- and firm-related information.

Compensation: $52,000-101,100 is the estimated salary range for this role in Irvine, California. Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
