At Daikin Applied as a Project Engineer, you will plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work in conjunction with the sales and project team. This individual will monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company policies and procedures. The Project Engineer will promote strong communication and ensure completion of project tasks of all parties on the projects to the project manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Estimates HVAC equipment on projects and creates professional, high-grade sales proposals from plans and specifications from clients for Daikin Applied. Selects and prices equipment using manufacturers selection software and other tools. Responsible for overall customer satisfaction by ensuring the complete scope of work proposed and accurately communicated, ordered, and delivered in full.
  • Learn on an ongoing basis the software and technology that supports Daikin products and those of related third-party suppliers. Embrace and learn about new technology and products.
  • Serve as the liaison between outside field sales engineers and customers and equipment factories to troubleshoot and address technical issues and customer questions.
  • Effectively communicate with the customer to determine project timelines, scheduling and required ship dates.
  • Analyze customer and engineering requests for changes to the initial project scope of work and implement these changes into the project as required.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the project financials from job costing through customer invoicing.
  • Assist the sales team with technical expertise in the selection/application of standard and/or modified products.
  • Create professional, technical submittal documents in accordance with the project drawings, specifications and scope of work sold for submission to the customer. Monitor the submittal approval process to minimize impact to the overall project schedule.
  • Provide prompt, accurate responses to sales inquiries regarding special applications, systems or pricing.
  • Interface with sales team for technical solutions, including use of Daikin energy analyzer and acoustics software as required.
  • Coordinate with Application Engineering and Technical Response Groups efforts to provide pre- and post-sales support.
  • Keep current on new products by attending technical training and sales meetings.
  • Process and execute orders in compliance with the project drawings, specifications and scope of work sold.
  • Receive and file Notice of Commencement and other documents that protect the company's lien rights.
  • Communicate with factories and customers concerning scheduled shipping dates, delays, and shipping notices.
  • Manage the post-sale process from shipping, start-up request and warranty issues through project close out.
  • Visit jobsites as necessary to ensure the appropriate installation and application of product and to address issues.

What you will bring:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Three to five years of prior (HVAC preferred or related) experience
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.
