About the Role:

  • Providing day-to-day technical advice, develop designs with designers and technicians and interact with other specialists and scientists in a collaborative environment to reach program goals.

  • Initiating and/or implementing improvement projects including engineering solutions to improve designs, improve operability and safety and reduce cost of components and complexity.

  • Managing capital and expense project requests, schedules, costs, etc.

  • Able to interact with fabricators and suppliers to ensure products delivered are what is expected for the application.

  • Ensuring compliance of project work with appropriate engineering and industry standards.

  • Identifying and implementing new insights while gaining team consensus.

  • Able to shift focus and problem solve under pressure.

  • Crafting, maintain, and update drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

What you can bring to this role:

  • Bachelor's Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.

  • 5 or more years' experience working in an industrial environment preferred.

  • On track to become a licensed Professional Engineer or already a PE.

  • Excellent digital literacy with the ability to learn new software and programs.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Results oriented when given a task or project.

  • Demonstrates ability to adapt and be resourceful in the face of challenges.

Every day is a new and exciting challenge at the Alcoa Technical Center in , PA, just north of Pittsburgh. We develop new technologies with our Breakthrough Technologies team that has the potential to impact the life of millions of people and foster the sustainable footprint from to the world. It was here where we developed the technology recently announced in partnership with Rio Tinto, called ELYSIS, where we will produce aluminum with ZERO emission of greenhouse gases. In fact, we will actually be generating oxygen to our atmosphere during the aluminum production process- a revolution to the aluminum industry!
