Job Description

Job Summary

Lead Sustaining and Support electronic department consisting of electronic sustaining engineers, component engineers, layout engineers and electronic lab support staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prioritization and triage of incoming sustaining and support activities.
  • Manage custom equipment duplication requests.
  • Build succession plans for organization.
  • Identify and implement organizational improvements.
  • Project status tracking and clear communication of deliverables, and timelines.
  • Identification and implementation of cost-reduction design opportunities.
  • Identification and implementation of circuit board yield enhancement opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Fundamental knowledge of electronic components.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent ability to read and comprehend design intent from design entry documents, such as schematics, gerbers, requirements, and specification documents.
  • Able to clearly document and communicate concepts to both peers and non-electronic engineers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and analytical skills appropriate for interaction with all team members (Internal and external customers, suppliers, hardware engineers, test staff & management).
  • BS Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Physics degree or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a multifunction group of engineers

Compensation:

  • The anticipated range for this position is $110,000 - $149,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.
