The Medical Assistantis responsible forprovidingresponsive customer service as the communicator between the patients and the provider. This role provides clinical and clerical support to Physicians and Mid-Level Providers andassistswith exams and in office procedures.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

• St. Petersburg, FL

What You Will Be Doing

• Practice universal precaution while using available personal protection and safety equipment.

• Administer medications whiledemonstratingproficiencyin the "5 Rights".

• Ensure proper completion ofappropriate consentforms for medication and/or immunization administration and supplying the patient with the Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) form.

• Assistproviderswithinoffice procedures.

• Prepare the patient for exam.

• Triage patient phone calls and obtainaccurateinformation and documentation

• Possess knowledge of medication classifications, side effects and proper dosage as it pertains to their specialty.

• Obtainaccuratevital signs frompatients.

• Practice aseptic and sterile techniques and ensure instruments are disinfected and sterilized

• Demonstrate working knowledge of computer systems and programs.

• Maintain and practice knowledge of OSHA regulations, exposure control plan and principles of infection control.

• Maintainproficiencyin equipment usage in assigned departments.

• Complete the relevant portions of the Encounter form using correct CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases).

• Ensure the clinical area is stocked for patient care needs.

• Adhere to Pathology Labeling and Processing policy.

What You Must Have

• High school diploma or GED

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification

• Completion of an accredited MA program

What We Prefer

• Previousexperience with EMR (Electronic Medical Record)

General Physical Demands

• Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of forcefrequentlyto move objects.
