Key Duties:

  • Perform tasks associated with the maintenance and/or construction of the pipeline, the right-of-way and grounds around pipeline or other facilities, and monitoring product quality.
  • Operate and/or monitor station/terminal equipment through manipulation of station/terminal central control panel to control movement of product into, out of, and within facilities.
  • Measure, record, and transmit product (crude oil, CO2, gas, etc.) volumes, both inbound and outbound.
  • Record and document all pipeline activity in designated geographic area of responsibility.
  • Interact with customers, landowners, 3rd parties, contractors, etc.; verify volumes for pick up or delivery.
  • Gauge tanks and all measurement activities, i.e., LACT/ACT units.
  • Assist support groups with maintenance (including I&E, corrosion, mechanical) and pipeline projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform line locates and One Calls.
  • Participate in and promote the company's Health and Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) programs.
  • Follow all company and regulatory policies and procedures. Ensure all customers, vendors, contractors, and visitors on facility premises adhere to company policies and procedures as well.
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance/housekeeping for the facilities.
  • Initiate and complete SWP. Conduct LOTO and assist with JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
  • Oversee contractors.
  • Assess SIMOPS.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant technician experience.
  • Must meet company's required training protocol.
  • Self-starter, responsible and has ability to work with moderate supervision.
  • Must be able to work in various natural environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must possess required certifications (i.e., TWIC card)
  • Basic math skills (including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Solid understanding of all local, state and federal regulations as applicable
  • Must maintain OQ qualifications (required for PHMSA)
  • Experience with tank gauging and other measurement activities
  • Mechanical aptitude; plus knowledge of valves, compressors, tanks, etc.
  • Basic-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet Explorer and all relevant business applications
  • 2-year technical degree, preferred
  • Pigging experience, preferred.
  • Experience with line locates and OneCalls, preferred.
  • Military training and experience, preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shift and/or work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as dictated by operations.
  • May be asked to travel outside of assigned area to other locations to assist, no more than 15%.
  • Completed training and is fully qualified to perform job requirements of position with moderate oversight.
  • Applies Level 1 Tech training and basic skills in area of operations/specialty.
  • Works within standard operating procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.
