Summary:

The Social Worker - LCSW will provide direct services to patients and families coping with acute or chronic medical conditions within the Genetic Oncology Clinic. Responsible for ongoing supportive counseling/clinical therapy aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement in order to support the family's effort in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.

Required Education, Experience, Licensure & Certifications:

• MSW from an accredited school of Social Work.

• Current LCSW Licensure with Texas Behavioral Health Council.

• Experience working in a hospital setting and prior experience working with children and families is preferred.

• Basis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment.
