Lab Technician - Contract to Hire

Great opportunity for a Laboratory Technician with SEM (scanning electron microscope) experience in Lynchburg, VA. and This is temp to hire opportunity!

Shift of the Lab Technician:
Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:

• Receives samples and inputs information and test requests into system database.
• Performs physical/mechanical, chemical and/or radiographic analysis on materials, products, components, etc., using various laboratory equipment and instruments and performs quality checks and data summaries.
• Maintains, calibrates, and operates laboratory equipment. Troubleshoots complex test machines and equipment.
• Keeps lab equipment, supplies and work areas clean and organized.
• Capable of performing pipette titrations, dilution calculations, and calibration curve generation for basic analysis.
• May be required to work with and around radioactive and/or corrosive chemicals

Qualifications of the Lab Technician:

• High School Diploma and 2-4 years of experience, with HS Chem courses.
• Prefer Associates of Science degree and 2-4 years of experience with college-level Chemistry courses for Chem Lab positions.
• Must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
