Job Description

Software Development Manager will lead a team of software developers and quality assurance analysts responsible for the development and support of applications for our organization. Maintains and drives technical milestones, coordinates development planning and activities with IT and business teams. This position works within a highly interactive team environment and works closely with both functional and technical staff to manage and provide daily direction to implement solutions to business requirements. Provides leadership, motivation and career development while optimizing resources and schedules to ensure that work objectives are met.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Possess strong intuitive business acumen.
* Ensure alignment of projects with corporate goals by monitoring, planning, prioritizing, work assignments and executing activities.
* Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendations for these employees regarding performance and change of status, including transfer, advancement, termination, and hiring.
* Be integral in the planning and design of the application architecture.
* Present architectural options and design solutions whether re-engineering or developing applications.
* Ensure development projects are scoped and delivered properly to meet the requirements of both business and IT.
* Monitor and co-manage a team of software developers, providing feedback and training where necessary, conducting performance reviews, and mentoring them in information technology processes and procedures and financial services concepts and processes.
* Ensure development projects are properly resourced and completed on schedule and within budget.
* Support project management efforts in estimating, planning, scheduling, and assigning projects to development staff.
* Manage a program of small projects, providing required reporting and management.
* Approve and assist in the analysis and design of solutions that meet the needs of the business.
* Oversee the development and refinement of an SDLC, application standards, procedures, templates and tools for system and software development and maintenance.
* Be a leader in the information technology department.
* Stay current on development tools and languages to maximize the effectiveness and efficiencies of the development engineers.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with the business leaders across the organization.
* Motivates, develops, leads, and manages the Software Development team to achieve their fullest potential.
* Develops and maintains a productive work teams by hiring qualified personnel, training, and managing performance.
* Manages teams with integrity, ethical business practices, and in accordance with Mouser policies, procedures, and practices.

* Manages daily operations to meet department and company objectives.

* Has acceptable driving record and can provide current, valid driver's license and current proof of insurance

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's Degree in any field, or minimum of 3 years prior work experience that is relevant to the team you will manage. Including:
* Internal candidates: Minimum 2 years as a highly performing Mouser Team Lead or Supervisor.
* External candidates: Minimum 3 years as a supervisor or higher-level management position
* 5 - 10 years' minimum project management experience
* PMP Certification preferred.
