Position Overview | Responsible for managing an NIH funded study examining "Exercise as Treatment in Children with Communication Impairments". The individual in this role will be part of a highly active research lab and will be responsible for (1) helping to develop training materials (2) ordering project materials, (3) recruitment and consenting of children with and without communication impairments, (4) data collection, data processing and storage, (5) scoring, transcription, coding, and data entry, (6) hiring, training, and managing research assistants, (7) providing support with preparation of presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts, (8) acting as a liaison between participants and study team, (9) other study-related responsibilities as needed. |
Duties and Responsibilities | 1. Develop training materials, plan/execute research assistant training 2. Manage data collection and transfer 3. Process data, score, transcribe, code, enter data 4. Ensure adherence to study protocol procedures 5. Hire and manage research assistants 6. Provide support with preparation of presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts 7. Act as a liaison between participants and the study team including interfacing with families for participant screening, study description, and collection of informed consent 8. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Bachelors degree in Speech Pathology, Exercise Science or related field Minimum of 1 year research project management experience Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Articulate communication and professional writing skills Expertise in following research protocols Interest in exercise and motor skills Knowledgeable/experienced with Microsoft Office products |
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Expertise in scoring motor assessments Expertise in administering speech and language assessments. Expertise in transcribing speech |
