Overview

The Associate Financial Consultant position is a transitional role with progression into the Financial Advisor role. The Associate Financial Consultant is responsible for development of new business in the investment advisory and brokerage product areas. The Associate Financial Advisor may also be responsible for management of existing business in the local markets. Under the mentorship of a Financial Advisor the AFC actively solicits clients and prospects for business opportunities including cross selling of all bank and company products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of an individual business plan to achieve new client acquisition, business line referrals and product/business line penetration inside portfolios; achievement of retention objectives; consistent portfolio growth and servicing objectives.
  • Responsible for partnering with assigned "Financial Advisor Mentor" to develop and implement sales techniques resulting in growth in assets under management and revenue growth resulting in a profitable book of business.
  • Proactively review current book to ensure proper client segmentation and transition to appropriate resources.
  • Ability to articulate and conversant in all aspects of JFG business offerings as well as financial industry topics/trends and financial planning topics.
  • Deliver a distinctive client experience that leverages our unique value proposition through the referral of wealth, mortgage, insurance, private banking and consumer banking. Matching prospect needs with JFG Business Partners to provide solutions resulting in closed new business and expanding depth of relationship.
  • Understand client's financial objectives through consistent purposeful discovery process by integrating financial planning concepts and process.
  • Thorough management of complex financial solutions; including: communication, implementation, maintenance and on-going administration of the client relationship.
  • Complete, timely and accurate documentation of client relationship information.
  • May perform JFG Financial Advisor Assistant responsibilities as determined by line of business and/or market needs.

Sales - Advising and Servicing Clients

  • Execution of our comprehensive sales process which includes successful prospecting, planning and gaining new business.
  • Basic knowledge of financial planning concepts and process
  • Knowledge of full portfolio of JFG products and services; actively cross-sells full breadth and depth of products. Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales, assets under management, and introduction goals.
  • Actively call/joint call on identified target segments, prospects, centers of influence, etc. to lead new business development and client acquisition efforts.
  • Expand new and existing relationships by advising and recommending appropriate solutions that will exceed client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners to expand customer relationships across all lines of business
  • Meets or exceeds client retention goals.
  • Perform proactive customer needs assessments on a regular basis.
  • Give persuasive sales presentations and tailors delivery and material to meet audience needs.
  • Applies sound judgment, innovation and appropriate creativity in management of client relationships.
  • Responsible for a variety of full-service financial transactions; decisions require thorough analysis, document interpretation, specialized solutions, discretion and risk management.
  • Thorough management of complex financial solutions; including: communication, implementation, maintenance and on-going administration of the client relationship.
  • Participate in an active and meaningful role in a community or industry organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required and minimum 1 year working knowledge of financial markets. Work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Series 7/66, Life and health licenses desired. Licenses not already held must be acquired within 12 months of start date.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Wealth Strategist, and/or Accredited Investment Fiduciary designations or equivalent are desired.
  • Strong internal and external communication skills, established ability to develop relationships with key business partners.
  • Expert customer service and time management skills required.
  • Proficient in all MS Office Suite of products, including MS Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook.
