Weston is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing Water Resources/Stormwater Engineering Program in Southern California. The Project Manager is a front-line client-focused leader who works to fully understand and satisfy project needs. They are responsible for networking with their clients to identify and define project opportunities, develop, and negotiate proposals, build teams of technical staff and subconsultants to execute the work, maintain quality and risk management processes to ensure that the work remains on track, and is delivered according to the authorized project scope, schedule, and budget.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • The successful candidate will have experience in working in the following areas: NPDES and TMDL compliance, watershed assessments/planning studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Only candidates with demonstrated project management experience, relevant subject matter expertise, and a successful working history with public agencies in Southern California will be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or environmental science
  • 10+ years of Surface Water experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 5+ years' experience in project management
  • Professional Civil Engineering (P.E.) license in the State of California is preferred but not required.
  • Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience
  • Strong entrepreneurial interest to engage clients and identify new project opportunities. Prior experience with leading or assisting with team growth is preferred.
  • Possesses excellent internal plus external communication and public speaking skills using Power Point or similar. Possesses the ability to convey technical messaging in plain language.
Expected Outcomes:
  • Ensures execution of all work professionally, safely, and ethically according to company values.
  • Leads and maintains professional charge over the development of engineering plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) packages, conceptual design, cost estimates, hydrology, and water quality reports, as well as other technical studies.
  • Ensures project delivery on time, within budget, and in accordance with the client's authorized scope. Manages and oversees the work of project staff and sub-consultants. Ensures adherence with company quality control procedures.
  • Leads day to day client communication and assists with establishing and solidifying client relationships.
  • Assists or leads in the development of proposal scope, budget, schedule, and statements of qualifications. Serves in a prominent role on project interview teams.
  • Assists with staff resourcing and mentorship.
  • Supports projects/clients outside of Southern California based upon project needs. Occasional travel required.
  • Maintains a visible and positive image through regular participation in professional organizations, conferences, etc.
  • Completes project billing, revenue forecasting, time and expense card approval on a routine basis and assists with accounts receivable when necessary.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $96,500 - $128,900 - $161,000
