Overview

Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Office Information Technology Management (OITM) Project Coordinator on the Consolidated Program Support Services (CPSS) Project Coordination (PC) contract. The Consolidated Program Support Services (CPSS) Project Coordination (PC) contract at George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) (Huntsville, AL) is a regionalized contract, and, as such, is available to all NASA Centers. The CPSS PC contract frequently has a need for a Office Information Technology Management (OITM) Project Coordinator. Barrios Technology, as the prime for the CPSS PC contract, is looking for OITMs at all levels to support the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC), NASA Headquarters (HQ), and NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC).


An Office Information Technology Management (OITM) Project Coordinator maintains visibility and insight into the organization's current IT inventory and practices and develops and/or maintains the organization IT Security Plan as well as manages the organization's requirements, ensuring delivery of what they need, when they need it, with the proper protections. OITM maintenance of a living IT Security Plan, a document with the latest IT security initiatives and standards, provides organizations with data security critical to NASA mission success. OITM Project Coordinator support is essential to keeping the programs and projects operating and secure.

Responsibilities

** We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening, however we do not have assurance at this time if and when the position will be finalized and opened. Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews.

The Office Information Technology Management (OITM) Project Coordinator will:

    Track and report on IT Assets, service requests, and purchases; provide website administration; and coordinate IT Policy and procedures across the organization.
  • Review IT policies and guidelines released to understand any changes in policy, procedures, or regulations that impact the end users. Bring information back to the project for implementation by our OITM Project Coordinators.
  • Provide liaison support to the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
  • Assist the organization with understanding and maintaining changes to IT security practices, such as Data at Rest (DAR), encryption, IT Security training, Agency level data calls, audits, and smartcard sign-in (PIV), etc.
  • Facilitate the development, review, and continuous update of the organization's IT Security Plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and evolving initiatives and standards up to the Agency level through participation with the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Chief Security Officer (CSO), and MSFC OITM working group.
  • Review regularly the IT security plan for completeness and currency with the latest policies to ensure IT assets and information are protected.
  • Communicate the IT security plan to management and the organization and provide any training necessary for understanding and compliance across the organization.
  • Identification of areas for improved efficiency and propose processes and products to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university, or five (5)years or experience.

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of experience.

-OR-

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience, or ten (10) years of experience.

-OR-

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) years of experience, or fifteen (15) years of experience.

-OR-

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university, plus twenty (20) years of experience, or twenty five (25) years of experience.

Preferences:

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to utilize meeting tools such as TEAMS, Skype, and Zoom.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
