Job Description
Job Objective:
Engineer capable of effectively and efficiently assessing problems, identifying profitable opportunities, and formulating solutions for all completion, workover, and facilities installation projects. Engineers at this level should be able to function comfortably without constant supervision but with awareness and willingness to ask for expert support when appropriate.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Capable of monitoring the gathering and analyzing of daily production data such as oil, water and gas producing rates, pressures and temperatures and understands how to respond to the data to efficiently maximize hydrocarbon producing rate and operating profits. It follows that a mastery of analyzing and understanding Lease Operating Expenses (LOE) will be required.
  • Has a functional knowledge of production systems operations, being able to plan for and size flow line heaters, separators, oil/water storage & disposal, gas & liquid metering, dehydration facilities, gas compression and flowlines.
  • Has a functional knowledge of artificial lift processes including sizing and selection of gas compression, rod pumping systems, gas lift systems, electric submersible pump systems, plunger lift systems, foaming with capillary strings and progressive cavity pumps.
  • Capable of planning and interpreting both open and cased hole logging operations and data.
  • Capable of constructing a detailed procedure to implement the objective of completion, workover and facilities installation or repair projects outlining personnel, equipment and materials required and the order in which they are to be implemented including cased hole evaluation logging, perforating systems, plugging and squeeze cementing techniques and design, and formation stimulation (acid/frac/other).
  • Capable of creating Authority For Expenditure (AFE) forms by researching, determining and applying the proper per unit cost of each product and service to be used as described in a completion, workover or facilities installation project to assimilate the total cost estimate.
  • Capable of performing an economic analysis of completion, workover and facilities installation projects using company methodology and parameters.
  • Capable of assisting site supervisors in the field in the execution of completion, workover and production facilities projects.
  • Is capable of applying effective people skills to interact with partners, service providers, peers and support staff and field & well site personnel. Must be willing and capable of effectively soliciting ideas from all people that you involve in the project to maintain a high degree of efficiency and "buy-in" to meet the goals of the projects and the company.
  • Can implement creative and entrepreneurial problem solving thinking and techniques for contributing to company goals to be the premier private energy company in the industry by efficiently developing energy resources that would otherwise be lost.
  • Learns how to appropriately communicate with Asset Team members, other office support staff, and wellsite supervisors and field personnel.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc).
  • Adheres to established work schedules, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of oil and gas production field operations experience.
  • Ability to solve problems accurately and proficiency in interpreting production related data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
  • Preferred:Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in engineering.
