Position: Residential Lending Leader | Division: LOB Executive Management

Work Days: Monday - Friday| Hours of Operation: 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Overview:

The Residential Lending Leader is pivotal in steering the direction, management, and strategy for the Residential Mortgage Lending Group at Broadway Bank. This role encompasses oversight of mortgage and consumer real estate loans sourced through various channels such as Private Banking, Financial Centers, and digital means. The position plays a critical role in managing relationships with investors for loans sold in the Secondary Market and is instrumental in developing new products and services to adapt to the competitive landscape, thereby boosting net interest and non-interest income.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the Residential Mortgage Lending group, in alignment with the bank's overall objectives.
  • Manage and nurture investor relations for Secondary Market loan sales, ensuring profitability and compliance with relevant policies.
  • Lead the design and introduction of innovative mortgage products, responding to market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Guarantee efficient, timely, and accurate mortgage loan processing to support portfolio growth and maintain credit quality.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive practices, recommending strategies to enhance product value and service excellence.
  • Coordinates with Counsel to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and banking regulations. Responsible for adherence to all audit and compliance issues within the Mortgage Group.
  • Oversee the creation and management of the department's budget, setting and achieving financial goals.
  • Maintain and support all necessary documentation and systems for loan fulfillment and investor requirements.
  • Actively participate in business development, community events, and represent the bank in various forums to enhance its market presence. Supports Bank CRA goals for lending and community activity.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team, ensuring effective succession planning.
  • Meet and maintain financial responsibility, character, and general fitness standards along with all other established requirements for an individual Loan Originator (LO) in accordance with Regulation Z.
  • This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in professional and executive lending, mortgage lending, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple investor relationships, including both servicing-released and servicing retained investors.
  • Experience pricing loans for the Secondary Market.
  • Experience working with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, GNMA, and other private investors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, with an MBA being highly preferred.

  • In-depth understanding of mortgage lending processes, including origination, pricing, and secondary markets.
  • Strong business development and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of driving department growth.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with mortgage-related regulatory and compliance standards and credit policy.

Other Requirements:

  • Eligibility as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry.
  • Adherence to financial responsibility and character standards as per Regulation Z.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
