Purpose: The HRIS Analyst plays a critical role in the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of HR Systems for Billerud North America. Billerud North America utilizes Ceridian Dayforce for Time & Attendance, Document Management, Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation Management. This role will provide critical support to the business on a day-to-day basis and may also provide specific support to business-critical processes and/or participate on project teams.


We are currently in a project to transition our talent management suite of HR Systems from SilkRoad Technologies to Cegid, the Global Platform currently in use by Billerud Europe. This transition will take place throughout 2024 and includes Recruiting, Talent & Performance Management, and Training and will have some integration with the BNA HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce). This role will participate in the project and will also have responsibility to build subject matter expertise in the Cegid system's HR process management to provide tier I (technical) support to BNA users.

In addition, the role will have the following key accountabilities:

  • Provide HRIS system (Ceridian Dayforce) administration, subject matter expertise, and Tier 1 customer support for BNA HR systems, including triage and response associated with the HRIS mailbox / ticketing system
  • Build and/or run system and custom HR data reports to meet various requirements and stakeholder requests.
  • Create and manage a strategy to optimize HR reporting.
  • Create and maintain work procedures and documentation for HR systematic processes and report generation and distribution.
  • Coordinate with Dayforce Support and/or Dayforce Value Added Services (VAS) with respect to system issues, enhancements, or new configuration; Manage and work to completion outstanding support tickets as assigned.
  • Manage VAS projects, as assigned.
  • Stay abreast of system updates, enhancements, software releases, hot fixes, etc.; evaluate release notes, update user procedures accordingly, communicate key changes to end-users, and recommend implementation of enhancements and new or improved functionality.
  • Prepare, analyze, interpret HR data for HR Metrics; Present HR metrics.
  • Build and manage HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce) Import and Export files and/or work with Ceridian VAS on file management as appropriate.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to optimize HRIS functionality and usability.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for HRIS processes, configurations, and procedures.
  • Develop and/or maintain materials and user guides for HRIS end-users.
  • Understand and manage HR data feeds / exports from the HR Data Warehouse (HRDW) Cognos Database managed by Information Technology; work with Information Technology DBA's when updates or changes or needed and/or to build new exports if the HRDW is the preferred data source.

Required Skills

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office 365, including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook is required.
  • Priory experience in Master Data or Process Management systems is required; HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Management systems is preferred.
  • Comfort with HTML and XML programming languages is required.
  • Comfort and confidence working closely with Information Technology resources and understanding company-wide technology interdependence is required.
  • Success in this position will be dependent upon the successful candidate's ability to quickly learn and become a subject matter expert in Billerud's HR systems, utilizing vendor training, documents, internal resources, and self-development.

Preferred Skills:

  • HRIS acumen and related system and process management experience is highly desirable.
  • Benefit Plan and/or Benefit Plan Administration acumen and related process management experience is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience with system implementation, configuration, or enhancement is a plus.
  • Prior experience with data analysis and data analytics is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a plus.

Required Experience

Minimum Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Technology or other business or IT related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as a specialist or analyst in process or data systems, preferably in HR
