We currently have an opening for a Structural Engineer in our Brookfield, WI location. This position, either individually or as part of a team, is responsible for the overall design and coordination of structural building related projects from inception through completion of construction. A motivated individual in this position will be able to pursue numerous career paths within the realm of structural engineering consulting.


Structural Engineer - Buildings - Responsibilities:

  • Organize and execute structural design efforts for multiple simultaneous projects
  • Design and layout structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments including the preparation of plans, schedules and details
  • Design structural systems of cast-in-place and precast concrete, structural steel, masonry and wood framing for a variety of healthcare, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, mixed-use and institutional buildings
  • Prepare structural calculations for submittal to regulating authority
  • Perform and/or coordinate the review of shop drawing submittals
  • Perform construction site observation visits and prepare reports of site visits completed

The candidate hired may be eligible for a significant signing bonus.

Requirements

Structural Engineer - Buildings - Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and five to seven years of experience in the structural design of building projects. A Master of Science degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is a plus
  • Professional Engineer Licensure required. Illinois Structural Engineer Licensure preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including RISA 3D and RAM Structural System
  • Working knowledge of AutoDesk Revit
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledgeable in consulting and construction practices associated with design/bid/build, design/build and construction manager roles and responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently
