Job Description

Are you a Systems/Test Engineer with experience in the simulation and training industry looking for the flexibility to work from home in Orlando, FL? Then we have an opportunity for you to work with our American Systems team developing, integrating, testing, and delivering the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft's Ground Aircrew Training Devices Combat Systems Integrated Product (CSIP). This position requires expertise in Systems Engineering to include deriving and documenting requirements, and familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods. Test Engineering skills for the development of detailed Test Procedures and Reports and onsite Test support at NAS Jacksonville, FL, NAS Whidbey Island, WA and Royal Australian Air Force Base, Edinburgh, AUS. This position allows for a hybrid work location (combination of virtual and onsite at our Orlando, FL office) at the discretion of the American Systems Program Manager.

A week in the life of a Systems/Test Engineer includes but is not limited to:

  • Work in a flexible environment with an industry which is developing the need for new technologies and systems that deliver cutting edge simulation environments.
  • Work closely with USN Fleet Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in determining optimum test scenarios and test methodologies.
  • Work with the NAWCTSD Test Team, American Systems, and other contractors in the planning and execution of test plans
  • Trace and validate P8A combat systems (CS) requirements to test procedures.
  • Author and validate test procedures with support from USN fleet SMEs.
  • Support or lead onsite test events as the American Systems test engineer and author STR (Software Trouble Reports) to document defects.
  • At the completion of formal test events, coordinate with the NAWCTSD Test Team in the writing and promulgation of test reports.
  • Travel in support of program objectives at the direction of the Program Manager.
Job Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A minimum of a current SECRET Clearance
  • BS/BA and 5-7 years of systems engineering and/or test engineering experience. Related experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • Military test and evaluation (T&E) experience, with operational test and evaluation experience.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and CAMEO desired.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $110K - 120K. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
