Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Inpatient Clinical Dietitian to join our healthcare team at Froedtert Hospital. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nutritional care to patients in the inpatient setting, assessing their nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutrition plans, and educating patients and their families on healthy eating habits. The Inpatient Clinical Dietitian will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.


Responsibilities include but are not limited too:

- Conduct nutritional assessments of patients to determine their dietary needs and develop individualized nutrition care plans.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition plans and make adjustments as needed.

- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families on healthy eating habits, disease-specific diets, and food-drug interactions.

- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.

- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.

- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

- Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of clinical nutrition.

- Assist with departmental projects, quality improvement initiatives, and staff education as needed.


EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Minimum two years' experience with direct patient care is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or a Bachelor's degree plus a certification in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics is required. Completion of an ACEND approved internship or coordinated undergraduate program is required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Current Registered Dietitian is required or must be registry eligible. Current Registered Dietitian must also be a State of Wisconsin Certified Dietitian within three months of the date of hire or transfer. If registry eligible, must become a Registered Dietitian within six months of the date of hire or transfer and become a State of Wisconsin Certified Dietitian within three months after obtaining registration.
