Overview

VTG is seeking a Technical Engineer, Change to assist in the Change Order process supporting our Virginia Beach office. The primary duties of the role is to plan, direct, and coordinate operational aspects of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of program are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


What will you do?

  • Reviews program proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing program, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of program.
  • Develops Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for Project Management Team.
  • Helps to establishes work plan by drafting Task Group Instructions (TGI's).
  • Identifies project scope discrepancies by comparing the installation drawings to the actual conditions on the job site.
  • Documents the scope discrepancies in the installation drawings validation report.
  • Documents and reviews scope discrepancies with the project and change management teams.
  • Drafts Condition Found Reports (CFRs) for the project team when discrepancies are identified during installation drawing reviews.
  • Reviews CFRs for the project team to provide technical advice for the recommended actions.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required in the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Prepares program reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confers with program personnel to assess program issues and to develop resolution.
  • Coordinates program activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Writes and reviews change orders request notifications (CORNS).
  • Coordinates change order process between Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Platform Managers, and Task Leaders.
  • Makes changes to the installation drawings to document change order approved scope (redlines)
  • Inserts work associated with approved change orders into POA&M's.
  • Assists in obtaining, tracking, and reporting of information required for daily, weekly, and monthly reports, Task Order closeout, and other deliverables.
  • Assists in the development of the T&I Book.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of work-related experience
  • Knowledge of project milestones
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Familiarity working with Navy preferred
  • Experience working with navy ship or submarine modernization preferred

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
