Posting Summary | The Department of Nutritional Sciences is currently seeking a Part-time Lecturer to teach the undergraduate course, Community Nutrition (11:709:441; 3 credit) during the Spring 2024 semester. This course focuses on the study of teaching, science, evaluation, and politics of community nutrition as well as programs and agencies designed to improve the nutritional status of various populations. Prerequisites for this senior level course are introductory nutrition, and lifespan nutrition. Interested candidates should have an advanced degree in nutrition and be actively engaged in community and public health nutrition outreach with at least 5 years of recent community nutrition experience. Prior work experience in federal programs delivering nutrition education to members of the community (e.g., SNAP-Ed, EFNEP, WIC) and teaching undergraduate seniors or graduate university level courses addressing the course content is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with the Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) credential, demonstrated evidence of past teaching effectiveness, and experience teaching in-person and quickly transitioning to online instruction during public health calamities. |
