ISCO Industries is an end-to-end piping solutions provider that specializes in HDPE. Manufacturing Project Specialists create, build, and implement tools, equipment, products, and solutions to give the operations and sales teams what they need to be the best in the industry. This position is based in our Louisville, KY fabrication facility where we have a dedicated projects area for product R & D, equipment design/development, and fabrication. Experience a balance of design, procurement, and planning work in the office, R & D and fabrication in the shop, and travel to ISCO's many sites for implementation and support. Work both independently and in collaboration within the Manufacturing Projects Team.

Essential Duties

  • Optimization of current manufacturing processes and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
  • Design and build new equipment to be used in fabrication facilities.
  • Maintain and improve existing equipment in fabrication facilities.
  • New product R & D.
  • Procure tools and equipment for fabrication and distribution facilities.
  • Document and organize all projects worked on.
  • Support operations and company initiatives.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Base Qualifications and Competencies

  • Education: Qualified candidates will possess, at minimum, High School diploma or GED. A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 - 15 years. Prior work experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or machine shop environment required. Experience designing and building or maintaining equipment and procurement of tools or components required.
  • Skills Required:
    • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.).
    • Working knowledge of tools used in in metal working such as band saws, angle grinders, plasma cutters, drills, presses, etc.
    • Working knowledge and troubleshooting experience with hydraulic systems including pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders.
    • Working knowledge and troubleshooting experience with pneumatic systems including pumps, piping, valves, and cylinders.
    • Working knowledge, troubleshooting experience, and ability to work safely with electrical systems up to 480 volt including distribution and motor/machine control. Working knowledge of PLC systems a plus
    • Ability to establish relationships and make recommendations regarding qualified vendors
  • Skills Preferred:
    • Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD or similar CAD program.
    • Project management and organizational skills.
    • Welding: Mig, Tig, and Stick
    • Machining: Operation of manual and/or CNC lathe, milling machine, and surface grinder.
