Our new colleague will also have a strong grounding in literature, film, and culture and be able to teach a diverse range of culture and language courses including courses that focus on commerce in German-speaking cultures. The successful candidate will teach in the German program but also contribute, on a regular basis, to Denison's distinctive, interdisciplinary Global Commerce program.

This is an open rank search, and the position requires a Ph.D. degree and native or near-native proficiency in both German and English. Our new colleague will mentor and supervise undergraduates in directed studies, summer research, and senior exercises as well as advise students through their course of study at Denison. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching undergraduates.

We seek a colleague with a creative imagination for curricular innovation and program development, thus we seek a candidate with varied and multifarious educational training and experience. This candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to other interdisciplinary programs and larger Denison curricular offerings such as Denison Seminars (team-taught, often with a travel component) and First Year Writing courses. Further information on Denison Seminars can be found at . We envision hiring a colleague who will contribute meaningfully to the campus community and develop a presence on campus through service to the college.

In addition to having native or near-native proficiency in both German and English, successful candidates will have a robust scholarly agenda and have already demonstrated significant signs of scholarly production. Faculty at Denison are expected to maintain an active research agenda that results in publications.
