This job you would be working with a mostly non verbal 14 yr old male with Autism and intellectual disabilities. Located in Port Washington, Wi, Ozaukee County.
You will spend your day working by observing him playing video games or potentially joining him in playing once he’s comfortable. He enjoys listening to music and you may find yourself exploring new music together. Other days you will be getting him out of the house to help give his mom a break during the day and to help with social skills. There are 2 dogs in the home, so applicants must be comfortable with pets.
Requirements of this job are to be able to think on your feet, must show empathy, have a great sense of humor, have a calm demeanor, intuitive and a willingness to learn. This isn’t a typical job, you are crucial to improving their quality of life. There will be a learning curve and the right applicant will be patient and show an interest in finding solutions to make their job easier and work better for this young man. There may be times where the client is deregulated and needs to be calmed down, sometimes that comes out in the form of aggressive behavior. The right applicant will be able to assess the situation and help de-escalate the situation.Experienced preferred but will also have on the job training.
This job is 10 hours a week, Monday-Friday, broken up a few hours a day to begin.

$23.10/hr AND about $0.66/mile driven
