Job Summary

We are looking for a Sr Director UX Design to build and lead the Design Team for Henry Schein One. You are a leader with strong business and product competence, deep customer empathy, a talent for storytelling, and the ability to work well with cross functional partners. You have experience across research, UI and UX design, and have managed or built high-performing design teams. You’re excited by the opportunity to build a world-class design team and champion the role of design in ensuring we build desirable and usable products.

What You Will Do

  • Define and deliver best-in-class and consistent user experience vision and strategy across HS1’s global multidisciplinary products, brands, and teams
  • Partner with product leaders to align on strategic priorities and build a shared vision of an easy-to-learn, easy-to-use experience to delight the customers
  • Ensure UX design is well integrated into the product development cycle, work cross-functionally to establish processes that enable optimal customer experiences from early concept through final implementation and verification
  • Use data and customer insights to confidently make decisions and set design directions.
  • Create and prioritize the UX design roadmap, assuring critical strategic priorities are not eclipsed by short term tactical tasks
  • Be a player-coach and hands-on leader to inspire our designers and researchers to define and deliver functional and intuitive customer experiences
  • Evangelize the value of a user-centric design approach; gain customer insights first-hand with Product Management through on-site visits, interviews, and analyzing user data
  • Drive the evolution and adoption of the HS1 global product style guide, design library, tools and systems, methodologies and processes to maintain consistency and efficiency in design and development across all products
  • Partner with marketing design leadership to assure cohesive experience from learning about our product and services, to making the purchase decision, to implementation and adoption.
  • Promote and facilitate the internal design team’s continuous professional development and build a culture of learning and creative collaboration
  • Manage and perform staff management functions including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, coaching, planning, and performance management in a supportive, team oriented, collaborative manner

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • 8+ years of experience in UX design of web or SaaS products, with at least 5+ years of leadership experience with successful track record of building and leading UX design teams.
  • Experienced with designing technically complex interfaces and workflows for B2B software solutions
  • Experienced in managing design consistencies across a complex product portfolio
  • Demonstrated ability to drive UX strategy and effectively work with cross-functional teams through all stages of the Agile product development cycle
  • Ability to create and manage a design roadmap, balancing strategic and tactical priorities
  • Experience creating style guides, design libraries, wireframes, storyboards, customer journeys, high-fidelity proof-of-concepts, and other design artifacts
  • Excellent understanding and application of UI/UX design and usability research techniques, principles, and best practices
  • Experienced with web and mobile design standards and technical implementation limitations
  • An aptitude and affinity for team collaboration, synthesize complex information and communicate effectively and openly with the cross functional teams and leaders
  • Passionate about learning, coaching, and professional development
  • Portfolio to demonstrate creative work in various stages of the design process, exemplify data-driven decision making, and showcase successes
  • Bonus: Experienced with software solutions in the medical or dental industry

The posted range for this position is $175,000 - $276,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a 20% bonus not reflected in the posted range.
