Job Overview:

The Director, Finance - Procurement serves as a strategic partner for the VP of Procurement of Hostess Brands. This role will build a trusted relationship within and across the Procurement team, lead the financial planning & analysis process, and deliver insights and recommended courses of action for the Procurement function using a variety of data types & analysis. Additionally, this role will be responsible to proactively identify synergy opportunities, process improvements, cost savings from efficiency, and ensure compliance with both the spirit and the letter of our Hostess Brands policies & procedures. The Director, Finance -Procurement will also provide perspective from a Finance lens on ways to optimize spend, drive supplier performance, and improve overall procurement effectiveness. As a Senior member of the Finance team, the Director of Finance will serve as a mentor and advocate for early Finance talent.

Key Functions and Accountabilities include:

  • Partner with the Procurement team as a trusted advisor from the point of view of a strategic partner.

  • Develop and lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), monthly PPV reporting, and quarterly forecast updates for the Procurement organization (commodities, ingredients, packaging, and indirect spend)

  • Lead and partner with Procurement leaders to analyze spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and develop strategies to improve procurement effectiveness

  • Provide financial guidance and insights to Procurement team members on a variety of topics, including spend analytics, supplier performance, contract management, and purchasing strategies

  • Maximize business profitability through analyzing and understanding the commodity markets and track and report the saving opportunities achieved by the procurement team

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, and collaborate with internal audit and control teams as needed

  • Develop and manage a team of finance professionals to support the Procurement organization. This includes selection, coaching, guidance and providing goal clarity.

  • As a Senior member of the Finance team, the Director of Finance will serve as a mentor and advocate for early Finance talent.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects, representing the Procurement organization from a financial perspective

Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on procurement or supply chain finance preferred

  • Experience leading and developing teams of finance professionals

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP or Oracle, preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, related field or equivalent experience required

  • Masters degree in Finance / Accounting or MBA preferred
