Position Summary |
The Division of Nephrology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a full-time candidate who is a
detail-oriented, results driven individual to join our team as a Clinical
Research Coordinator.
In general, the ideal candidate for
the Nephrology Research Coordinator position will have experience coordinating
clinical trials with all populations, including Hispanic and/or Native American
communities. This includes completing
IRB submissions (local and external), patient recruitment and retention, and
data collection and maintenance. This candidate
will also have a firm understanding of good clinical practices in conducting
research strong interpersonal and communication skill and the ability to work
effectively with a variety of university and community stakeholders. Depending on the study, these stakeholders
might include: health care providers, funding agencies, university researchers,
and media representatives.
The ideal candidate will exhibit the
following characteristics: ~Ability to effectively adapt to
changing priorities ~Ability to effectively provide
support for a variety of research project types ~Ability to effectively multitask ~Ability to communicate effectively,
both orally and in writing ~Ability to communicate effectively
in Spanish both orally and in writing
Specific duties will include: ~Recruitment, enrollment, and
scheduling of research subjects. Developing and maintaining record keeping systems and procedures ~Collecting and preparing
comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports, such as enrollment
tracking for all active studies ~Coordinates and facilitates
development and submission of local IRB applications for the conduct of
biomedical and/or other federally regulated life sciences research studies, in
accordance with all relevant Federal and State regulations and guidelines ~Advise and assist research in the
preparation and submission of protocols for compliance review ~Drawing and processing blood will be
required for some studies

Conditions of Employment |
- Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
- All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
