The Corporate Controller supports operational effectiveness by leading day-to-day accounting management, providing financial information as an input to informed business decision-making, and seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency through process improvements and/or automation. The Corporate Controller also plans, directs, organizes, and supports all aspects of the organization's financials, objectives and initiatives


Responsibilities:

  • Leads Accounting function and supports the ongoing needs of the organization.

  • Identifies and implements efficiency and process improvements over accounting processes.

  • Partners with Business Systems Analyst to modify or develop SAP system solutions to business process challenges

  • Advises organization and senior leadership on GAAP accounting treatment and policies.

  • Works closely with business partners to support company growth initiatives.

  • Serves as a resource, advisor and problem solver for his or her cross-functional director-level peers to resolve business problems and develop business opportunities

  • Skilled in purchase accounting and in the integration of acquired operations

  • Oversees day-to-day financial operations, including Treasury, daily cash requirements management, A/R, A/P, Invoicing, Cash Application, payroll and financial dashboards.

  • Manages team in month-end close process, account reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, consolidation, financial statement preparation and financial statement analysis. Responsible for accurate maintenance of financial records, system, and chart of accounts.

  • Directs cost accounting function, including SAP standard costing for product/inventory, manufacturing accounting and monthly manufacturing variances.

  • Oversees payroll processing.

  • Establishes policies and maintains internal controls, including accounting processes

  • Cost accounting

  • Accounts payable

  • Sales recognition

  • Accruals/sales allowances

  • Inventory variances

  • Capitalization of fixed assets

  • T&E expense

  • System security (SAP)

  • Monitors compliance, including accounting, purchasing, and inventory management policies and procedures.

  • Manages special finance projects.

  • Leads annual audit process, including annual physical inventory and coordinating with external auditors.

  • Manages departmental structure, including defining and updating role descriptions for direct reports, recruiting, selecting, training and retaining.

  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range department goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.

  • Meets regularly with direct reports to set goals and monitor progress toward goals.

  • Gives ongoing feedback and conducts formal performance evaluations in a timely manner.

  • Provides continuous professional development, including assisting direct reports in defining career goals and seeking opportunities.

  • Delivers or provides for training and resources required for direct reports to perform their roles.

Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related major (Master's Degree preferred)

  • Previous experience in public accounting/audit

  • Experience leading corporate-level accounting organizations with multi-state manufacturing environments (food production/CPG)

  • Skilled in purchase accounting and in the integration of acquired operations

  • Proven experience with T&E expense

  • Experience in ERP, and accounting systems (SAP is highly-preferred)

  • Confirmed track record of optimally managing Accruals/sales allowances, inventory variances, capitalization of fixed assets and accounts payable.

  • Expertise in leading high-performing teams and continuous process improvement projects with Aloha spirit
