Job Description
Hours/Week:  40  
Status:  Full-Time

Reports to (Position): Credit Manager                                                                          
# Direct Reports:  0 

Position Summary:  Work closely with the Credit Manager to underwrite and recommend disposition of credit requests of the Bank.  Review financial and collateral data on existing borrowing relationships, analyzing risk factors for annual portfolio reviews.  Develop skills and build a network in an energetic environment.  Scrutinize financial data such as market share, income growth, and management quality to decide if loans will be lucrative. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of spreadsheets and profitability models
  • Preparation of cash flow analyses in a spreadsheet format
  • Assist Lenders prepare loan packages for Loan Committee, which may include the above components plus:
  • Credit Authorization Request, “CAR” (Q & A) & CA modifications 
  • Credit Investigations (Credit bureau)
  • Analytical essay which includes historical financial analysis of the existing/potential borrower and should cover the following topics: 
  • Summary of background and operations
  • Management evaluation (ownership)
  • Industry and competition (Outside sources: Value Line, RMA, Bloomberg, S & P, IBIS World, CoStar)
  • Financial analysis (historical-profitability, cash flow, liquidity, capital resources, projections)
  • Other:  Officer comments, collateral evaluation, recommendation to approve or decline with statement supporting recommendation; attend Loan Committee meetings
  • Working closely with assigned regional Commercial Lenders on day-to-day business tasks
  • Adherence to the Bank’s BSA/AML policy and procedures, and professional ethical standards.
  • Any and all other duties as requested by management.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Degree:   ? Preferred    ? Required     ? N/A   Specify: BBA- Finance, Accounting or Business                        
  • RMA Certification preferred
  • Strong Interest in business, finance and business development
  • 5+ years experience as a Credit Analyst in the Banking industry
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to uphold privacy and confidentiality
  • Strong integrity and ethics at all times  
  • Strong focus and diligence with great attention to details
