A qualified Engineering Intern (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical) must be a student who is either currently enrolled full-time in an accredited four (4) year engineering program or a recent engineering graduate. The individual must possess appropriate analytical/problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction and a sound understanding of basic engineering fundamentals. The intern’s duties will be to work on assigned projects and develop potential solutions to encountered problems, under the guidance and direction of management.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                  

  • Become familiar with RSCC, its products, markets, organization and manufacturing processes and culture.
  • Work on suitable/appropriate projects assigned by and under the direction of the department manager.
  • Develop, review with management and assist in implementing solutions to encountered problems.
  • Prepare a monthly Summary Report of progress and accomplishments for review by management.  Also, at the end of the internship period, prepare a final report covering the entire intern period for review by management.
  • Be responsible for and complete all internship requirements of the enrolled university (if applicable).

 

These are the general duties required to fulfill the Engineering Intern job description, not a detailed description of all work required.  New duties and responsibilities may be added and required to meet the changing demands of the business and/or work schedules, and will be reviewed with the intern, as required.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enrollment in a four (4) year accredited university level engineering program
  • Familiarization and basic proficiency with computers/PC’S and the following software packages: Word, Excel, Ansys, & AutoCAD.
  • Possess a self-motivated desire to learn and succeed.
  • Mature judgment; common sense and disciplined approach to problematic issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrate ability to interface appropriately with all levels of the organization and follow-up on open issues, as appropriate.
  • Commitment to safety.
