Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Essential Job Functions
  • General duties include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms/locker rooms to include sinks, toilets/urinals, showers, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, countertops,, mirrors, etc.
  • Mop floors via commercial floor machine as well as manual equipment
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork. Serves appropriate portion sizes determined by Unit Management
  • Maintains availability of silverware, plates, cups, etc. for customer usage.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
  • This is non-skilled work in the food service operations of a state institution.
  • Employees will ensure building cleanliness and sanitation standards and washing dishes.
  • The employees assist in the cleaning up of the facility to ensure good sanitation and food service.
  • Position requires knowledge of general housekeeping techniques, proper cleaning procedures for floors, tables, equipment, and windows.
  • Knowledge of the operation of floor maintenance mopping and sweeping machines.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of related front of house food service experience. ServSafe certification should be obtained within 1 year of employment.

Work Schedule/Hours
Campus Dining is a Sunday - Saturday, 6:00 am - 11:00 pm operation. Operations are reduced during university breaks. Employees are scheduled two days off each week based on business need. Days off may not be consecutive days off.

PM Housekeeping
3 pm - Midnight Monday-Friday

Employees may be required to work some flex hours to support the needs of the business and/or for special campus events. Schedules will be adjusted as needed to provide coverage in these cases.

Physical Demands of Position
Lifting items over 50 lbs. Stooping and bending to retrieve items from ovens, shelves, etc. Sweeping and mopping area each day. Scrubbing and cleaning of all equipment daily, standing on your feet for the entire 8-hour shift.

Anticipated Hiring Range $33,222 - $35,360
Required Functional Competencies to Successfully Perform Job Duties.
Perform basic cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming, window washing, etc., to keep working areas in a clean and orderly condition. Fill dispensers, such as tissue and soap dispensers, with the proper product and amount. Listen to instructions, asks necessary questions to complete tasks.
Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
