The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Lead Transmission and Distribution Designer opening on our Transmission & Distribution team. The Lead T&D Designer supports an assigned group of engineers by preparing construction drawings for transmission line designs with minimal supervision while also providing technical drafting support. The candidate will also utilize PLS-CADD to support the engineering team with transmission line modeling.  This position will work under a discipline design lead to successfully complete projects. Candidates must have strong attention to detail and work well within a team. 


What You'll Do

  • Utilize PLS-CADD to support the engineering team with transmission line modeling. 
  • Design and develop plans for infastructure projects by drawing accurate 3D models on a given software platform.
  • Prepare construction drawings for transmission line designs with minimal supervision while also providing technical drafting support.
  • Utilize knowledge of design and 3D modeling to provide technical guidance to other technicians.


What We Expect from You

  • Two-year technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and drafting role is preferred
  • Knowledge of transmission line design is required
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is required
  • Knowledge of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE is beneficial
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
  • Good organization and communication skills to assure projects are completed on schedule with high quality
  • Must have the ability to work permanently in the US
