Summary Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads work order or pick tickets or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be picked, moved or processed.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, forklift, pallet jack, conveyor or other material handling equipment.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs banding and stretch wrapping to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or containers.
Packs and prepares cartons for shipping to customers. Ensures accuracy of order and security of packaging to avoid damage in shipment.
Secure certain larger items in crates, either by building from scratch or using an empty crate on hand.
Use crate shop equipment when required. Such as table saws, nail gun and staple gun.
