Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:

Using Six Sigma, Kaizen, and VA/VE methodology identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities to deliver project cost, quality and time objectives established by the Plant Manager and his/her respective business unit executive.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the activities of the CI team.
  • Identifies key individuals for team membership and secures their availability directly or with the assistance of their Champion.
  • Provides basic Six Sigma, Kaizen, VA/VE training to project team members.
  • Applies Six Sigma, Kaizen, VA/VE tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve and control project processes.
  • Reports on project progress to management team and other appropriate leadership levels at least on a monthly basis.
  • Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and assure timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.
  • Shares best practices with the JCI team members.
  • Provide leadership as the JCI Facilitator.

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have 5+ years previous experience and be able to perform each essential duty of the job satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. TPS experience a plus.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or Accounting related field, or equivalent experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Candidate has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Candidate has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
