POSITION SUMMARY

Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi-Cola Bottler founded in Birmingham, AL, more than 100 years ago. The Manufacturing Relief Supervisor is a key member of the Corporate Manufacturing Team responsible for exercising independent judgment and discretion in managing the production lines for which he or she is charged with, and in supervising the employees working on those production lines or otherwise under his or her supervision.


The Vacation Relief Supervisor relieves the following positions during vacations. Responsible for all of the duties related to that job.

  • Production Superintendents
  • Production Supervisors
  • Quality Control Supervisors
  • Lab Technicians
  • Syrup Blenders
  • Syrup Room Assistants
  • Water Technicians

Ability to coach, direct and lead others to achieve departmental production and quality efficiencies.

Help facilitate Food Safety, and job specific training requirements for Employee-Partners.

Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.

*

Ability to learn and use various software - IE PasLab, Labmain, Zontec Data Acquisition, Synergy (SPC), Warehouse Management System WMS, Avail Batch Module, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and others.

*

Ability to learn and use various Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), IE MicroBlend, batching and Syrup Distribution, KHS system, Ecolab system, Water systems, and others.

*

Must be able to read and interpret tables and document on necessary forms and software programs.

*

Must have good communication skills.

*

Must have an understanding of Statistical Process Control.

*

Must have good problem-solving skills.

*

Carry out other duties as assigned.

FOOD SAFETY: Required to follow the Good manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section 110. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required

College education is preferred.

Experience:

2 plus years of experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred

Computer Skills:

Computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Other Requirements:

Supervisory experience required.
