Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital, located in New Albany, IN is a 40 bed inpatient rehab facility providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the coordination of scheduling of all outpatient services to ensure the needs of the
patients, their families and the staff are being met. This includes initial and recurrent appointments,
insurance verification and business office functions. Prepares charts for coding with medical records,
performs daily communication with physician offices, schedules staff in coordination with the inpatient
scheduler and prepares daily activity reports to appropriate parties.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year experience of clerical experience required.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
- Two years of experience in a Medical setting preferred.
- Basic computer operations: Excel, Microsoft Office and Word preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and insurance guidelines preferred.
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
