Job Description
Overview

At Hauser Ross Eye Institute, our experienced physicians, technicians, and staff are committed to providing exceptional care for you and your loved ones. Hauser-Ross educates and supports you as you explore treatment options for various eye conditions including cataract, retinal conditions, tearing issues, dry eye, corneal disease, glaucoma, and eyelid problems. We are looking for a FULL-TIME, experienced OPHTHALMIC SCRIBE. Hauser Ross Eye Institute is committed to patient care and making every interaction excellent while inspiring the complete confidence of its patients. As a Scribe, you will provide accurate documentation and summarization of the retinal examination and plan, while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status.

Responsibilities

Enter timely, as dictated by physician, accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter into the EMR system
List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
Document procedures performed by the physician
Serve as liaison between the physician, patient and staff
Provide unparalleled customer service to patients, adhere to established protocols and work processes, and successfully manage volume without compromising quality

Qualifications

Minimum of one year experience working as an ophthalmic scribe
Skill level advanced enough to effectively navigate EHR software system
Fluent in English, bilingual preferred
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Advanced computer skills
Knowledge of ophthalmic and medication terminology and CPT and ICD-10 coding
Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve
Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
Be a team player and maintain a professional attitude with typical job stress and have a flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving and fast paced environment
