Job Description

Summary

JOB SUMMARY: A professional educational position responsible for coordinating activities in his/her specified areas related to the orientation/education process. The roles of this position include: Learning Facilitator, Mentor, Consultant, and Change agent for Carroll Hospital. Duties include but are not limited to: management of the new hire orientation process, accountability of preceptors, on-going associate education, participation in monitoring and evaluation of quality indicators. The Educator/Mentor is accountable to the basic standard of practice as defined in the Maryland State Nurse Practice Act.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred. 4-7 years of recent clinical experience in nursing with three years' experience teaching clinical practice preferred. Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association BLS Certification, BLSI preferred within 1 year, ACLS, PALS and NRPI preferred. Certification in specialty area also preferred.
