Our Mission:

To empower students of all ages to be lifelong learners who demonstrate creative thinking, critical analysis and problem solving skills in an ever changing and challenging world.

Winona Area Public Schools covers 266 square miles and proudly serves the communities of Dakota, Goodview, Homer, Minnesota City, Minnieska, Nodine, Ridgeway, Rollingstone, Stockton, Wilson, Winona, and Witoka. The total population is about 38,000 residents and the public school k-12 enrollment is around 3500 students. The district has 640 employees including approximately 270 teachers, with 61% of teachers having their Masters degree. Our annual budget for 2009-2010 is $46,167,622 which covers general fund, school nutrition, Community Education, building bond issues and debt repayment.

The district includes one high school (grades 9-12); one middle school (grades 5-8), six elementary schools (grades k-4), an area learning center (grades 6-12) and programming through our Community Education Office for early childhood, youth, families, and adults.
