Overview:
We are seeking a Facilities Assistant to help assist in the day-to-day maintenance and repair of Fredrikson’s facilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Completes minor repairs of Firm office furniture and equipment; coordinates repairs and requests with property management, building maintenance, cleaning staff and outside vendors and follows through to ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.
Accountable for move/add coordination of individual and multiple office moves, temporary locations of employees, file cabinet assignments, and other space related items as requested.
Performs administrative duties including answering telephones, responding to email requests, contacting vendors, scheduling of meetings, maintaining department inventories, service logs, audits, and asset tags, etc.
Provides backup assistance to conference/hospitality and reception desk.
Assists in assigning and replacing and tracking access cards and temporary cards.
Assists in the process of distributing new and replacement parking cards, keys, furnishings, and other items as requested.
Assists with ordering of printed letterhead, envelopes, business cards and note sheets for the firm.
Completes ergonomic assessments and assists with special equipment and supply requests.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
This position requires an individual with a minimum of two years’ experience in an office environment in the areas of facilities or conference services.  Experience in maintenance and repair helpful.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, computer skills, excellent grammar and organizational skills and attention to detail and flexibility required.

Determine what education opportunities should be made available to various groups based on Help Desk calls, department, and user requests.
Notify, schedule, and deliver technical and departmental software learning sessions and maintain a record of attendance for firm personnel.
Understand complex topics and ideas in order to express them in design.
Perform creative and technical duties in the production of graphical and interactive elements used in digital, print, video, web, audio, presentations, e-mail, animation, and other electronic media projects.
Participate with project deployments including user acceptance testing, end user support, communication, and deployment tasks.
 
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
At least five years of experience in training required.  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products.  Instructional Design experience using products including Storyline, Camtasia and Canva.  Legal experience preferred but not required. Bachelor’s degree in related field required.

We are seeking a patent agent to join our Intellectual Property Group of over 40 professionals, to be based in one of our Midwest offices, with the opportunity to work remotely in a hybrid environment. This position will primarily support a shareholder in our Des Moines office and will be paid on our Des Moines salary scale but the individual could be located and work from any of our domestic offices in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin.

We are seeking two Practice Managers to join our legal operations team. Reporting to the Director of Attorney Development & Practice Management, each Practice Manager will be responsible for the daily execution of business needs and the operations of the assigned division and departments. The Practice Manager will support either our Business Division or our Litigation Division depending on the candidate’s prior experience and background and the needs of our various departments. 

Key Responsibilities Include: 
Business, Administrative and Operational Support
Facilitate division and department efforts to ensure operational effectiveness, profit maximization and innovation in service delivery, matter management and pricing.
Assist in the annual development of division and department financial models and support division and department chairs in the monitoring of division and department financial performance against budget.
Collaborate with assigned finance and pricing professionals to facilitate each department’s profitable growth in revenue; engage in value proposition and pricing strategy development with pricing colleagues.
Collaborate with assigned marketing professionals to expand each department’s client base, including through budgeting, data gathering, pitches, and RFPs. 

Strategic Planning
Facilitate the strategic planning process for the division and departments as directed by the division and department chairs.
Monitor plan execution and regularly report on progress against plan to the division and department chairs. 
Work with assigned marketing and business development professionals on the marketing and business development component of department business plans to ensure that initiatives align with each department’s strategy.
Manage division and department level projects, as assigned, to help support the division and department plans.

Efficiency, Legal Project Management, Knowledge Management and Technology
Lead efforts to identify client and practice needs, pain points and challenges that could be addressed with legal project management, process improvement, knowledge management tools and/or technology.
Support the firm’s data strategy, including tracking matter profile data, monitoring usage of practice content and resources, and capturing experience data.
Understand the firm’s available resources and technology and develop better workflows and processes to drive teams and tasks to the “right” resources (whether people, process, or technology).
Monitor developments in legal technology applicable to the assigned division and departments; assist with evaluation and selection of new technologies and practice workflows, working closely with our IT and Research & Knowledge Management teams throughout the process; assist with the implementation, training, roll-out and adoption phases of new practice technologies.

Our Ideal Candidates Will Have: 
Our ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, skilled multi-tasker, and able to maintain a strong service orientation in a fast-paced environment. Requires ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical, project management, prioritization and organization skills are expected.

Candidates should have at least five years’ relevant experience and a solid track record of success in a professional services environment. Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, JD, or other professional experience) preferred. Candidates must have proficiency in standard business software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Lists) a plus.
